How are KM Carburetor's carburetor kits different from others?
Most "carb kits" are a bag of unneeded brass parts of dubious quality along with misfit o rings and gaskets to fit a variety of models. Our carburetor restoration kits are thoughtfully curated to include everything you need for your specific application and include all Viton o-rings and diaphragms for superior ethanol resistance and heat tolerance. We select the very best parts from a host of manufacturers and assemble them into easy to use kits ensuring everything you install on your motorcycle is perfect.
We put extraordinary effort into sourcing products from countries with strong reputations for high quality manufacturing like Japan, Germany and the United States of America. We also use the kits ourselves so we KNOW they're the best!
Why does KM Carburetor care so much about country of origin?
When we evaluate parts before offering them for sale we look at a number of factors, not the least of which is country of origin. While it is certainly possible to get high quality parts made in any region of the world, we have found that certain countries consistently produce superior quality parts.
Places like Japan, Europe and the United States of America have a strong appreciation for high quality and it manifests in the parts they produce. When quality is dictated by both cultural pride AND a fair price, you end up with a better product every time.
These countries also provide better working conditions and higher wages for their employees. We've all seen the videos online of barefoot workers in dirt floor shops cutting metal with no protective clothing. While their ingenuity and determination is admirable, we believe that everyone deserves a safe work environment and to be paid a fair wage for their work. By buying parts from factories that exploit their workers, we become part of the problem.
We gladly pay more for our parts to ensure everyone in the supply chain is treated with dignity and respect.
Why don't you stock the same generic parts that other sites do?
We know that customers restoring high value Japanese motorcycles want the best parts and don't want to sift through thousands of different generic mufflers, helmets and butt connectors to find them. We won't bog you down with garbage.
Everything we offer for sale has been individually evaluated for quality fit and function. Sure, we could sell more parts if we offered everything available from every supplier, but we believe in quality over quantity.
